tidwell project

capturing potential through the arts

Who are we?  The Tidwell Project, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides exposure to performing arts in economically disadvantaged communities.

Who participates?  Adolescents between the agesof 13 - 18 are exposed to the performing arts of dance, music, drama and poetry.

What is our mission?  We would like to expose youth to various forms of expression and give them the opportunity to engage in healthy choices and behavior. We focus on changing the "mind-set" of youth even if their environment remains constant and providing them with alternatives to violence, drugs, and at-risk sexual behaviors.

Who directs this organization?  Mr. C. Michael Tidwell, the Artistic Director,is a well-known artist and currently is an instructor at Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High.  With more than 20 years experience in the public schools and in performing arts, Mr. Tidwell has consistently demonstrated the benefits of the performing arts and building self-esteem, self-respect and discipline.

How are we funded?  Through corporate sponsors, events, and funds obtained from the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol that assisted in a drug resistance project, we are able to allow our project to remain a constant program in the Little Rock, Arkansas community.

How are the funds used?  We give scholarships to deserving youth to aid in education and career success. Over 65 previous scholarship recipients have obtained college and post-graduate degrees. Funds are also used to keep our center open for youth involved in The Tidwell Project.

How can you help?  Monetary donations are extremely helpful. Attending and supporting our events are also ways to help. You can also become a corporate donor of our one of our events. The next scheduled event is December 18th, 2016 at 6:30pm. You aid by sending us your tax deductible contribution to the address below or by simply clicking the donate now button!
